When you retire and part of your legacy is getting a tiki bar for the office!

The recipient retiring from @salesforce was described as an adventurous outdoorsman, loves the beach, is an avid paddle boarder, and once purchased a tiki bar for the office! This is my kind of inspiration!

To bring this inspiration to life I designed and built a platform to act as the tiki bar and serve as the cake stand. Lots of sawing, drilling, and hot glue gunning of bamboo rods.

Also, built into the platform was a support structure for the 2 foot edible surfboard made of rice crispy treats covered in @guittardchocolate white chocolate and @satin.ice fondant detailed and decorated with @poppypaints, @sweetsticksau, and @icinginks.

Along with the build out, 2 holes were drilled through the platform to support the tiki torches made of bamboo stakes, with torch covers made of @satinice fondant, painted with @sweetsticksau and accented with hand painted wafer paper flames.

Now for the cake.  The two tiered Tahitian vanilla with strawberry and chocolate with Earl Grey cake was covered in panels of @satin.ice fondant with the gradation of blues and creams giving serious surf vibes. Hand shaped and hand painted fondant surfboards were made for each of the @salesforce mascots printed on @icinginks frosting sheets. Finally, the cake was topped with clouds and a circular chocolate disk to represent the sun setting in this chapter of the recipient’s career.

What’s a tiki bar with out the details? Edible sand made of @nillawafers and crispy rice cereal surrounds the cake and serves as a bed for the edible coconut shells made of chocolate, custom tiki bar menu, tropical florals, and a few drink umbrellas I threw in for good measure.

And if you’ve seen me on @baketopiahbomax you know I love lights on a cake! Pineapple string lights were strung around the cake platform and 2 mini lights were added to the torch flames to really make this tiki bar glow! (Insert @theweeknd song here.
